Juned’s grandfather Alimohammad was a bandhani artist from Bara village, Abdasa Taluka. Juned’s father Mohamedbhai learned the art from his father. After the earthquake of 2001, the family relocated to Bhuj, dramatically improving their business.

Mohmadbhai has received the President’s award for craftsmanship, and the prestigious Shilpguru award, and has traveled abroad extensively. Juned’s mother ties for bandhani and teaches other women the art.

Juned learned dyeing from his father and tying from his grand uncle. He has travelled throughout India for exhibitions.

Bandhani is Juned’s identity. He believes that a good artisan’s work should speak for itself. Good design should blend tradition and inspirations from nature. And he should keep good customer relations.

Juned feels that the future of bandhani is good. He dreams of starting his own brand and traveling abroad.

In 2012, Juned studied at Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya.

After graduating, Juned continued to experiment and create new work for the contemporary market. He seeks inspiration from a range of sources and has found a range of clients.
