The family of late Mohamad Siddique Khatri has practiced the art of hand printed, natural dyed ajrakh for many years. Junaid is of the tenth generation. He was born in Dhamadka the traditional village, After the earthquake of 2001, the family moved to Ajrakhpur, a new villages established by Junaid’s father Ismailbhai.

Juned entered the family business when he was seventeen. A year later, in 2005, he took the pilot course in design at Kala Raksha Vidhyalaya.

Since graduating, Junaid has become an artist in his own right. His collections have been shown in Mumbai and purchased by designers and visitors from around the world.

He received the UNESCO Seal of Excellence Award.

In 2011, he accompanied his father to the ISEND natural dye conference in France.

In 2013, Junaid presented a solo collection for the Co-Creation Squared fashion show in Mumbai.

In 2014, through Somaiya Kala Vidya, he conducted workshops in Ajrakhpur for students of Pearl Academy Delhi, and went to Delhi to demonstrate for the greater student body.
